AUSLMAT organised and coordinated an Emergency Medicine Workshop on the 3rd of July 2026 in partnership with the Ruhunu Clinical Society, with emx (Emergency Medicine Expand) providing sponsorship for the event. The initiative delivered hands-on Advanced Life Support and resuscitation training as well as presentations on various topics in Emergency Medicine to 185 doctors working in regional Sri Lanka.

In February 2024, a team of 28 cyclists from Australia and Sri Lanka embarked on an extraordinary 21-day journey around Sri Lanka, riding over 1,350 kilometres to raise funds for Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) in Colombo.
Supporting Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children
Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) is Sri Lanka’s only dedicated paediatric hospital and one of the largest in South Asia, providing free care to more than one million children annually. Despite the dedication of its medical staff, the hospital continues to face significant shortages of essential equipment due to economic instability and import restrictions.
Through Pedal Sri Lanka 2024, participants and supporters joined forces to address this gap. The team’s fundraising campaign, run through GoFundMe, raised over AUD $62,000, enabling the purchase of critical medical equipment for Lady Ridgeway Hospitals Cardiac department.
This funding was made possible through generous donations from individuals across Australia and the support provided by AUSLMAT (Australia Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team) — who assisted with the procurement and timely delivery of medical equipment

The 2024 cycling tour began in Negombo, and followed a clockwise route around Sri Lanka’s coastline, concluding in the historic city of Galle. Riders traversed diverse landscapes — from arid plains, ancient cultural sites to national parks and tropical coastline — averaging 60 to 100 kilometres per day. Along the way connecting with several local communities.
